Test Engineer

Job Description:
As a Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software solutions by designing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive testing strategies. You will evaluate requirements, create test plans, and perform both manual and automated testing to validate functionality and performance. Your role will involve documenting, tracking, and reporting defects, as well as analyzing test results to identify root causes and ensure issues are resolved effectively.

In this role, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team to meet high-priority project goals. A successful candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases for software applications.
  • Conduct manual and automated testing for end-to-end lifecycle validation.
  • Document, track, and report software defects.
  • Analyze test results and perform root cause analysis to resolve issues.
  • Re-test applications after defects are addressed to ensure resolution.
  • Provide and monitor quality control checkpoints and publish test results.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure testing aligns with business and technical requirements.
  • Track metrics and maintain service level agreements for quality and customer expectations.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience as a Test Engineer or in a related quality assurance role.
  • Proficiency in SQL for creating and executing queries.
  • Experience testing Java-based applications.
  • Knowledge of software testing processes, including test planning and execution (manual and automated).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, tools such as JIRA and Confluence, and Scrum practices.
  • Experience with testing tools and technologies, including SoapUI, Splunk, Postman, AWS, and automation tools.
