Title - Packaging Graphics/Digital Renders – Production Services


POSITION SUMMARY
Design and maintain brand identity throughout the creative process of packaging design for products. Develop digital packaging render concepts of final and proposed packaging including graphics and structural componentry. Support all levels of mechanical execution for packaging with technical understanding the how packaging production decoration method impacts design development. Create design concepts for packaging adaptations, product line extensions and promotional packaging as required.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create digital packaging images of branded products from final packaging mechanicals and through incorporation of product photography in multiple angles for various packaging forms (cartons, bottles, aerosol cans, film pouches, shrink sleeves and displays)
• Generate realistic packaging renders using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Esko Studio products.
• Create models and templates of various structures types for application in new packaging renders, maintaining consistency of quality and standards in image execution.
• Application of SKU meta-data and nomenclature for package image tagging and formatting for uploading to and management to company digital asset library.
• Partner with Production Services managers and design personnel to manage schedule of deliverables within fast-paced environment.
• Create packaging mechanical executions, ensuring adaptation of creative, design continuity, communication hierarchy and graphic elements are consistently leveraged across of a variety of packaging forms, sizes, and decoration methodologies for consistency and strong branding presence at retail.
• Design to and execute production across multiple brand portfolios in multiple regions leveraging multiple languages, translations, and print converters.
• Interpret requirements of specific printer specifications into mechanical artwork development including print process limitations, ink application, coating, embossing, typography, photography, images, color limitations, min/max dot usage, line weights, safety and UPC truncations/magnifications
• Produce accurate artwork mechanical content established in accordance with regional regulatory requirements for all regulated content including: hazards, warnings, ingredient listings, drug facts box, recycling symbols.
• Generate graphic element files including support logos, icons, symbols, communication bursts for packaging and digital utilization.
• Ensure developed artworks are established against packaging die line requirements for print process and print supplier.
• Adapt and interpret Marketing Graphic Briefs into compelling package design concepts that effectively convey brand and design objectives as required.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Strong knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite – highly proficient in Illustrator, superior Photoshop skills a must. Familiarity with Esko Studio and Studio Advanced a plus.
• Strong knowledge in color correction and digital retouching for packaging image development and finalization.
• Ability to source and reformat for multiple file formats. Distribute assets as required through various platforms including utilization of Fileshare, BLUE software system.
• High proficiency in the development and execution of packing artwork mechanicals.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or Graphic Communications or relevant work experience or an equivalent combination for education and experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience as a designer/graphic/production artist in packaging design environment. CPG experience a big plus.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with strong interpersonal skill set
• Manage high volume workload
• Knowledge of printing processes in design development and prepress requirements – offset, dry-offset, silkscreen, flexography, digital and, letterpress, combination, and gravure printing.
• Ability to trouble shoot and assess integrity of incoming agency designs and files, correct and translate technical requirements for appropriate layout builds.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external partners (packaging prepress firms/printers).
• Must demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of deliverables and executions.
• Motivated Self-starter. Able to change priorities with sense of urgency.
