Role / Responsibilities
Position Description
This position is responsible for the leadership, financial management and oversight of the multi-disciplinary Medicare skilled nursing facility that serves the long-term care and rehabilitative needs of Arizona's Veterans/members. Ensures that the Arizona State Veteran's Home's resources are used efficiently to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental and psychological well-being of each Veterans member. Participates in the development and implementation of goats, objectives, programs, projects, policies and procedures rela1ed lo the operation of1he facility. Enforces department and facility policies and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position is the "face" of the Arizona Stale Veterans' Home and works lo build collaborative and cooperative relationships with federal and state agencies, Veteran Service Organizations and other community service groups. Learns, implements and monitors Arizona Management System (AMS) methods. Utilizes AMS concepts and tools for problem-solving and continuous work/process improvements and efficiency
Skills Required
Managing and directing the overall activities of multiple long-term care/skmed nurslng facilities/Slate Velerans Homes.
Interpretation and application of all rules and regulations pertaining to the operation of long-term care/skilled nursing/Slate Veteran Home
Developing policies and procedures
Skills Preferred
Nursing home adminislralion principles and practices.
Federal and Slate laws governing lhe operations of lhe Arizona Slate Veteran Homes Law, regulations, and guidelines pertaining lo long-term care/skilled nursing facility administration.
Experience Required
A minimum of 5-6 year experience in the administration of skilled nursing facilities
Must have a valid Arizona Skilled Nursing Facility Administrator license
Must have a current TB Test - Must possess current license to practice as a Nursing Home Administrator in Arizona. - Frequent in-stale travel is required. Position requires driving in lhe course of conducting State Business.
Valid driver's license is required
Education Required
Bachelors degree although a masters degree is desired in Healthcare Administration or a closely related field of study.
