Network Security Engineer (Firewall & Security)
About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to support and enhance a large, enterprise network environment. This role focuses on firewall operations, network security controls, and incident response within a highly structured, compliance-driven organization.

This is a hands-on role for someone who has already worked in complex, production environments and is comfortable owning security infrastructure that must remain stable, secure, and available at all times.
What You’ll Be Doing

Administer, support, and maintain enterprise firewall environments, with a primary focus on Palo Alto Networks and Cisco ASA
Perform firewall rule management, tuning, and ongoing policy optimization
Execute firewall code upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance
Monitor security events and investigate alerts using firewall logs and security tooling
Provide incident response support, including root cause analysis and remediation
Participate in on-call rotations to support critical network infrastructure
Assist with vulnerability management and security control improvements
Work closely with infrastructure and security teams to ensure best practices are followed
Support audits, documentation, and compliance-related activities

What We’re Looking For
Required Experience

5+ years of experience in network security or network engineering roles
Strong foundation in networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, protocols)
Hands-on experience supporting Palo Alto Networks firewalls
Experience working with Cisco ASA in production environments
Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale networks

Preferred / Nice to Have

Security certifications (Security+, CISSP, CCNP Security, PCNSA/PCNSE, etc.)
Experience in regulated or highly governed environments
Familiarity with SIEM tools, vulnerability scanning, and security monitoring platforms
Exposure to cloud networking or cloud security concepts
Experience supporting audits or security frameworks (NIST, ISO, etc.)
