Job Description

Sr. Network Engineer – NetScout SME
Hybrid – Must be Local (1–3 days/week onsite)


Are you a passionate networking pro who thrives in a dynamic, ever-evolving environment? Do you love diving into packet captures and using data to tell a story? We’re looking for a NetScout Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join a high-impact team where you'll troubleshoot complex networking issues, guide teams with data-driven insights, and evangelize the power of observability across the organization.
What You’ll Do
  • Be the go-to expert on NetScout – capturing, analyzing, and interpreting packet-level network data.
  • Support and troubleshoot a wide range of technologies: switching, routing, load balancing, cellular, fiber, microwave, and Starlink.
  • Enable other teams to solve problems using network data – act as a bridge between infrastructure and business users.
  • Take part in a collaborative team, driving proactive solutions in an environment that values autonomy and ownership.
  • Rotate into a low-frequency on-call schedule (approx. once every 15–16 weeks) focused on NetScout issues.
Must-Have Skills
  • Deep expertise in routing, switching, and load balancing.
  • Strong understanding of packet-level troubleshooting (reading, interpreting, reverse engineering).
  • Solid foundation in network protocols and observability tools.
  • A learner’s mindset – ready to explore evolving technologies, not just repeat tasks.
Nice to Haves
  • Linux OS experience – will help accelerate your understanding of NetScout.
  • Exposure to scripting/automation (Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Familiarity with MPLS, LTM/GTM, wireless, data center, WAN/WiFi.
  • Network certifications like CCNA, Network+, or similar.
 Work Environment
  • Hybrid: At least 1 day/week onsite, with flexibility for more.
  • Team of 10 engineers + collaboration with firewall team.
  • Learning-focused culture – not a one-trick pony role. You'll grow your skill set every day.
  • Degree preferred, but strong experience and certs can offset it.
