Software Engineer (Java) – Remote

Role Overview

As part of the Application Support Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability and quality of enterprise applications. This position requires a strong customer service mindset, as you will work closely with internal IT teams to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve application issues. You will be responsible for investigating incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions, leveraging your expertise in SQL, databases, and Java.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with IT and support teams to diagnose and resolve application issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and provide feedback to improve system reliability.
  • Utilize SQL and database expertise to research and modify data when needed.
  • Work with incident management systems (ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence) to track and document issues.
  • Ensure security best practices are followed in all aspects of development and support.
Required Qualifications  
  • 3+ years of experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
  • 3+ years of Java-based software development or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with REST/SOAP Web Services.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Familiarity with JIRA, ServiceNow, Jenkins, and version control tools (Git, SVN).
  • Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, SQS, S3).
  • Experience with Unix/Linux environments.
