Job Description

IT Infrastructure Technical ManagerAs the Infrastructure Technical Manager, you will lead and manage all infrastructure and support activities within your specific area of focus in the infrastructure department. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and budgets, ensuring the alignment of all architectural components with overall technical architecture. This challenging and rewarding role will report directly to the Senior Leadership of IT Infrastructure group and contribute to the development of Infrastructure technical roadmaps, standards, metrics, and architectural methodologies.Key Responsibilities:
  1. Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership, guidance, and support to a team of administrators and specialists responsible for Network, virtualization, Database administration, and Storage solutions. Assign tasks, set performance objectives, and ensure the successful, on-time, and within-budget delivery of all projects.
  2. Skill Development: Collaborate with your team members to enhance their skills and expertise, fostering a collaborative and positive team culture that promotes knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  3. System Performance: Monitor system health, performance, and security, proactively identifying and addressing any issues or vulnerabilities to ensure smooth operations.
  4. Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and IT teams to implement and manage platform enhancements, upgrades, and integrations, promoting user adoption and best practices to maximize productivity and collaboration within the organization.
  5. Strategic Planning: Implement and support short-term and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
  6. Policies and Procedures: Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and support staff.
  7. Budget Management: Contribute to Infrastructure planning, project, resource, and budget meetings to determine priorities, services, equipment, and new technologies. You will also be responsible for specific infrastructure budget categories, including Hardware, Software, and Consulting.
  8. Issue Management: Manage open requests and issues to ensure all work is delivered on time and with high quality, tracking and reporting on KPIs related to availability, ticket metrics, and SLAs.
 Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Cost Estimates: Prepare cost estimates for current and proposed projects to assist in overall IT planning.
  2. Personnel Management: Under general supervision, make decisions on personnel actions and performance appraisals.
  3. Maintenance: Work one Saturday per month to complete routine maintenance tasks.
Qualifications:Education/Experience: Must meet two of the following criteria:
  1. A Bachelor’s degree or related work experience.
  2. A minimum of 8 years’ experience in I.S. or a related field.
  3. A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing and/or leading technical teams.
  4. Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Infrastructure, with 4 of those in your job focus area.
Leadership Skills: Experience leading, supervising, or directing teams.
  1. Communication: Excellent written, analytical, problem-solving, and verbal communication skills.
  2. Multitasking: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
  3. Team Player: Ability to work in a team environment.
  4. Motivated and Customer-Focused: Motivated, self-directed, results-oriented, and customer-focused.
  5. Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented with a desire for quality.
  6. Hardware and Software: Advanced working knowledge of hardware and software.
  7. Distributed Teams: Experience in managing distributed team members is a plus.
