Manager of Engineering – Azure Solutions

Are you a seasoned Lead Application Developer who loves to code, architect, and mentor at the same time? We are looking for a hands-on Manager of Engineering, Azure Solutions to lead a small, high-performing team while remaining actively involved in the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade software on .NET, C#, and Microsoft Azure.

This is not a pure management role — you will own technical decisions, guide architecture, review code, and contribute directly to development, all while mentoring your team and managing project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on development of Azure-based applications, using .NET, C#, and modern cloud technologies.

  • Serve as technical lead and architect, providing guidance on best practices, code quality, and scalable design.

  • Own the Azure DevOps pipeline, including CI/CD, release planning, and environment automation.

  • Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to define requirements, plan work, and ensure timely delivery.

  • Manage a small team of developers, providing mentorship, guidance, and day-to-day leadership.

  • Drive agile processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives, while continuously improving delivery efficiency.

  • Ensure solutions meet security, scalability, and performance standards, particularly in high-volume, high-availability systems.

  • Interface with vendors and third-party development partners, ensuring alignment and delivery quality.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a technical leadership or hands-on engineering manager role.

  • Proven hands-on expertise in .NET and C#, ideally at a Lead Developer level.

  • Experience building and deploying applications on Microsoft Azure, including App Services, Functions, SQL, Key Vault, and other platform services.

  • Deep knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, release management, and environment automation.

  • Strong software estimation, planning, and delivery management skills.

  • Excellent client-facing communication skills and experience collaborating with stakeholders.

  • Solid understanding of enterprise integration, API design, and secure cloud transactions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Comfortable working onsite and mentoring a small, high-performing team.
