Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Desktop Engineer with a strong focus on endpoint security, especially in EDR solutions like CrowdStrike. If you have a passion for ensuring high-quality installations, deployments, and security solutions, this role will allow you to collaborate with multiple teams, contribute to system upgrades, and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of network and application infrastructures.
Responsibilities:
Establish standards and procedures for the installation and deployment of new hardware and software across the organization.
Ensure the quality and efficiency of installations carried out by other teams, and regularly update procedures to align with emerging technologies.
Work with development teams to transition applications to new server systems.
Assist with the installation of third-party software used by application development teams.
Collaborate with Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams for system inventory management, backups, and system monitoring.
Create and document network traffic flow requirements, as well as deployment diagrams for new applications.
Lead projects aimed at updating core operating systems (Windows/Mac/Linux) and ensuring software compatibility.
Review vendor documentation, assess deployment options, and create implementation plans, including testing and scheduling.
Respond promptly to technical alerts, troubleshoot issues, and develop corrective action plans. Engage vendors and external IT groups when necessary to resolve issues.
Manage server software, printer queues, and network shares, ensuring proper security and configuration.
Handle domain administration tasks, including user account management and group policy modifications.
Design, implement, and manage automated systems to support End User Services.
Lead and mentor junior staff as required to ensure task completion and knowledge transfer.
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience with endpoint security and EDR solutions (CrowdStrike or similar).
Strong background in system administration, including Windows, Mac, and Linux environments.
Familiarity with network traffic flow, system migrations, and software deployment processes.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex IT issues in collaboration with multiple teams.
Ability to plan and execute IT projects effectively, maintaining a focus on quality and security.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
Leadership experience or potential to guide junior staff.
