Data Governance Specialist Description• Should be able to move fast and operate effectively in an ambiguous environment• Clear communicator who is able to distill complex technical concepts to easily digestible content• Have an eye for detail and are able to drive efficient, accurate records, and effective information management throughout the organization• Acts as a liaison between the business and the Data Governance Team• Willing to take the leap to help build something great from scratch Responsibilities• Refine and operationalize data domain stewardship frameworkâ—‹ Define roles and responsibilitiesâ—‹ Create and maintain documentation and training materialsâ—‹ Collaborate on operationalization path and roadmap]• Enable operationalization of data domain stewardship framework via coordination, facilitation and guidance of stewardship communities• Utilize Collibra data catalog to implement stewardship roles and workflows• Support and align with interdependent data governance initiative workstreams in areas of RDM/MDM and data access and semantics• Develop high-quality, repeatable processes and process improvements, ways of working, tooling opportunities, KPIs, and SLAs focused on data governance excellence.• Create and maintain documentation and build out an information portal for the data governance and stewardship program• Work with R&D data governance leaders to develop and implement a strategy for operationalizing the genomic stewardship community• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continue to define the R&D data stewardship framework including clarifying roles, responsibilities, workflows and other necessary details.• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and deliverables• Provide regular updates to stakeholders on progress and achievements Qualifications• 5-7 years of experience in the data field that resulted in a high level of data literacy and an in-depth understanding of the people, processes, technology, and procedures associated with effective data governance strategies and metadata management and analyses.• DAMA DMBOK, CMMI DMM, EDM Council DCAM, or similar certifications• Operationalizing and management of a data catalog; specific Collibra experience a plus• Genomic or life sciences data experience in an R&D environment is a plus• Experience leading working groups to include the use of strong communication, organization, and delegation tools, setting project strategy and prioritization, project change management, and monitoring progress towards project goals.
