Cloud Data Engineer


We are seeking a Cloud Data Engineer to join our team and help design and implement cloud-based data solutions. In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to solve complex business challenges, working as a subject matter expert on data engineering projects. You will evaluate technology effectiveness, gather requirements, conduct testing, and make recommendations to enhance performance and quality. A customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead efforts to migrate existing data platform solutions to the cloud.
  • Design and build new data pipelines and workflows using cloud technologies.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure data solutions align with business needs and optimize decision-making processes.
  • Utilize cloud platforms to enable efficient data storage, processing, and analysis.
  • Address performance and operational issues, implementing robust solutions.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance workflows and reduce costs.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize query performance, ensuring high system availability.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to address critical issues promptly.
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud database systems, including Cosmos DB.
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management and CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, or Bitbucket.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure workflows and managed database solutions (e.g., Managed SQL Instance, Databricks Delta Lake).
  • Strong knowledge of T-SQL and scripting languages.
  • Experience with big data platforms and solutions.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve issues independently, providing end-to-end problem resolution.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems).
  • Experience with Azure platform technologies such as Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Event Hub.
  • Familiarity with API development and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with large-scale projects and JDBC connections to data sources.
