Cloud Engineer

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for designing, developing, automating, and maintaining software systems and cloud infrastructure in support of enterprise-grade applications and services. The engineer will focus on building scalable, resilient cloud solutions and will collaborate closely with product and development teams. Extensive experience with public cloud platforms—particularly AWS—is essential.

Preferred experience includes work with data engineering and analytics teams, as well as familiarity with Databricks.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, configure, and enhance cloud-based software and infrastructure solutions.

  • Automate cloud operations and support infrastructure using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools.

  • Manage and monitor system improvements to ensure optimal performance and availability.

  • Integrate knowledge across various platforms and technologies to support comprehensive systems design.

  • Apply expertise in Linux and Windows environments, container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible), scripting languages (Python, Node.js, PowerShell), and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer).

  • Contribute to architecture and implementation strategies focused on scalability and fault tolerance.

  • Support troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis for cloud systems and services.

  • Work closely with architects and business analysts to understand requirements and provide input into solution design.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.

  • Engage in Agile development processes, collaborating with team members and stakeholders to move projects forward.

  • Participate in API design and development efforts using modern integration patterns and testing methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred), DevOps tools, containerization, and automation frameworks.

  • AWS Certification preferred.

  • Strong understanding of networking, storage, and cybersecurity principles.

  • Demonstrated experience in software development lifecycles and agile methodologies.

  • Excellent customer service, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-starter with a commitment to continuous learning and technical skill development, including pursuit of certifications.
