Senior Software Analyst – Cloud Data Engineering (100% Remote)
 

Are you someone who thrives at the intersection of data, technology, and business needs? We’re looking for a detail-driven Senior Software Analyst to join a cloud-focused data engineering team. You’ll have a direct hand in shaping enterprise data products by translating business goals into practical system solutions, driving requirements, and validating results through analysis and testing.

This is a fully remote opportunity for someone who wants to have impact without losing flexibility.
What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Partnering with product, engineering, and business teams to gather, define, and refine functional requirements for new features and enhancements.

  • Translating business requests into logical and detailed technical documentation.

  • Using SQL to conduct functional testing, data validation, and gap analysis across a variety of cloud systems.

  • Leading and contributing to data mapping efforts essential for successful integrations, transformations, and data migrations.

  • Troubleshooting application functionality and working with engineering teams to resolve technical issues.

  • Supporting agile software development cycles with backlog grooming, story refinement, and post-deployment validation.

  • Collaborating across teams to ensure business needs are fully understood and incorporated into software releases.
What You Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience writing SQL for data analysis, validation, and testing.

  • Hands-on experience with data mapping and transformation efforts.

  • Solid background working within Agile or Kanban delivery frameworks.

  • Strong skills with documentation and collaboration tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, JIRA, Confluence).

  • Experience in regression testing and validating production readiness.

  • A strong sense of personal accountability, organizational awareness, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication—especially in explaining complex ideas to varied audiences.

  • Proven ability to partner closely with software developers and translate technical functionality into business-friendly terms.
Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.).

  • Familiarity with Teradata, Oracle, and/or SQL Server.

  • Experience with APIs—either documenting or designing.

  • Curiosity and willingness to explore modern cloud technologies.
