Job Description

Position: Business Analyst (BA)
Overview:
Seeking an experienced Business Analyst to provide critical support.  The role involves organizing and improving existing processes and documentation to ensure efficiency and clarity. The team currently faces challenges in utilizing a substantial amount of documentation and processes. The goal is to streamline these resources and enhance overall processes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Improvement: Analyze and refine existing documentation and processes. Develop business requirements, process flows, user guides, and other necessary documentation.
  • Business Cases: Prepare and present business cases in collaboration with university partners.
  • Project Collaboration: Work closely with the Project Manager to plan and execute requirements elicitation and management strategies.
  • Requirements Analysis: Conduct current state and root cause analyses. Plan and implement modeling techniques for scope, process, rules, data, and interfaces.
  • Validation: Assist in validating requirements, managing project scope, user acceptance, installation, and deployment. Determine and track metrics.
  • Documentation and Communication: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation. Ensure effective communication of requirements and facilitate approvals.
  • Gap Analysis: Perform gap analysis and prioritize requirements. Develop conceptual prototypes and mock-ups as needed.
  • Consulting: Provide expert consulting to stakeholders regarding requirements management and project deliverables.
Skills Required:
  • Experience: Extensive background in process improvement and technical requirements development. Familiarity with business analysis methods and modeling techniques.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of systems engineering, functional and non-functional requirements, and technology/application development projects.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing and consultative abilities.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong research skills, attention to detail, and independent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Tools: Proficiency with MS Office, Visio, and business analysis tools.
  • Education: Preferably IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI Professional in Business Analysis Certification (PMI-PBA). Business education is a plus. Familiarity with ITIL framework is a plus. 
Additional Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Proven track record of successful presentations and coordination within teams.
  • Experience in business analysis for large projects and client relationship management.
