Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Azure)

About the Role

We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with strong Azure migration experience to support the organization’s transition from on-premises infrastructure to the cloud. This is a hands-on technical role, requiring a candidate who can work independently with minimal guidance. The role will focus on Azure cloud environments, server administration, and virtualization technologies, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities Azure Infrastructure & Cloud Migration
  • Lead and support Azure cloud migration efforts, optimizing performance, cost, and security.
  • Design and implement Azure-based infrastructure solutions, including compute, storage, networking, and identity management.
  • Monitor and maintain Azure resources, ensuring high availability and compliance with security best practices.
Server Administration (Windows/Linux)
  • Manage and maintain Windows and Linux server environments, including configuration, security, and performance tuning.
  • Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy for a stable and secure IT environment.
  • Troubleshoot server-related incidents and provide Level 2/3 support as needed.
Virtualization & Infrastructure Management
  • Oversee VMware vSphere environments, managing virtual machines and ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of virtualized environments.
  • Support infrastructure security, implementing policies to safeguard systems against cyber threats.
Security & Compliance
  • Implement infrastructure security measures to protect data, applications, and systems.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Act as an escalation point for security incidents and infrastructure-related issues.
Technical Leadership & Support
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, policies, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and external partners on complex technical implementations.
  • Participate in off-hours maintenance windows as required for upgrades and system enhancements.
  • Serve as a technical advisor, providing guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff.
Key Qualifications
  • 2-5+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure management, with a focus on cloud technologies.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, particularly in cloud migration, deployment, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration, including security and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with VMware virtualization, including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices, access controls, and compliance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with networking, storage, and backup solutions in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or VMware Certified Professional (VCP) are preferred.
