Job Description
The Senior Accountant will handle accounting, financial analysis and reporting, and budgeting for assigned business units. The role requires adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and contributes to the achievement of department and company goals.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform monthly general ledger journal entries, financial analysis, and reporting
Review general ledger for accuracy and prepare variance analysis against budget/recast
Prepare, maintain, and distribute weekly spreadsheets related to sales forecasts, conversion spending, tooling supply usage, etc.
Prepare monthly forecasts, review with plant leadership, and attend monthly meetings with CSC management
Maintain and generate reports on cost of goods sold, product profitability, standard costing, and inventory analysis
Maintain process routings, work centers, locations, and part attributes in the ERP system for production use
Input standard costs for inventory and supply items
Review monthly cycle counts and reconcile plant inventory; ensure presence during physical inventory audits
Prepare annual budget files and assist with other budget preparation activities
Provide ERP system support for operations and inventory issues/questions
Review and analyze plant financial statements to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to achieve financial targets
Assist plant operations with metrics linked to financial performance
Handle compliance reporting activities, including taxes, incentive programs, and surveys
Monitor and maintain general ledger controls and internal controls in compliance with GAAP and FAS
Act as a resource for plant and corporate staff, providing assistance with questions and problem resolution
Contribute to a positive work environment by promoting productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, customers, vendors, and others
